How to automate the set-up of environment variables for US ATLAS grid jobs.

As a US ATLAS user, you will likely use your grid certificate to copy data files or to submit jobs over the grid.

At the US ATLAS BNLTier 1, we recommend that you take advantage of the following script, which will setup all the environment variables necessary for you to use the certificate for the grid.

To source the script from BNL, for OSG clients:

source /afs/ # or setup.csh if you prefer

To verify the environment:

After sourcing the script, verify your certificate installation with the command:

voms-proxy-init -voms atlas

You will be prompted to enter your grid pass phrase for this certificate. Once you enter the pass phrase, a grid proxy will be created for you.
